UX/UI Designer

SciNote LLC with offices in Ljubljana, Slovenia is looking for a new UX/UI designer to join an international team of scientists, software developers, and creative thinkers.
The position is designed for an external collaborator with the workload of approximately half full-time Essentially you will join the Product management team, responsible for continuous improvements of SciNote. You will play a key role in contributing to UX/UI to a global SaaS product, SciNote electronic laboratory notebook.
As a member of our team, you will be in contact with accounts working at the world’s greatest industry, government, and academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and improve the user experience of existing and new projects related to SciNote.
- Based on requirements, user research conclusions and user feedback prepare wireframes, high-resolution prototypes, and clickable prototypes primarily for web, responsive web application, and to some extent mobile applications.
- Collaborate with Product managers, who also conduct user research and deliver requirements for UX/UI prototypes and ensure the prototypes are included in software specifications.
- Communicate your design to software developers and ensure design standards are transferred to software developers and maintained during implementation.
- Work efficiently as part of a team of developers, other designers, product managers, and QA specialists.
- Conduct and analyze usability tests to validate assumptions.
- Help to maintain SciNote style guide and design system.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional UX/UI design experience, with an emphasis on product and interaction design for SaaS with web applications and mobile applications.
- Passion for UX and designing interfaces that effectively serve the needs of users.
- Attention to detail.
- Attention to interactions in User interfaces.
- Experience with working with style guides and design systems.
- Capacity and interest in mastering the use of a software product.
- Experience in user research, defining UX/UI requirements, scenarios, user stories, user profiles, and user flows.
- Creative visual skillset: being able to translate complex technical and business concepts Experience designing low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity wireframes, and clickable prototypes.
- Skilled with using Figma and other tools such as Zeplin, and Sketch.
- Experience with conducting moderated and unmoderated usability tests.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions based on business intelligence analytics.
- Experience with interacting with software developers to hand off designs.
- Experience using software tools such as Appcues, Pendo for improving user engagement, product adoption, retention, etc.
- Self-initiative and eagerness for learning new things and self-improvement.
- Excellent communication & listening skills, with complete fluency in English.
- Demonstrable UX/UI design skills (with portfolio preferably) – visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Self-initiative and eagerness for learning new things and self-improvement.
- A positive and proactive approach, with and a can-do, will-do attitude.
- Efficiency, good time management and prioritization.
- Deliver solutions on time, on budget and according to specification
We are primarily serving customers in the life sciences area, which often have a different set of needs than the general consumer market. It is important that you are open to understanding these needs. Any previous experience you might have with life sciences, technology, science and research is beneficial. However, it is not required as we do have members in the Product management team who have scientific background, and are involved in user research. It is a great benefit if you can be present at least occasionally on our location (Ljubljana, Slovenia).
