How much do SciNote’s plans cost?
While the cost for each plan varies depending on the number of users, lab needs, and set up requirements, in general you can anticipate the cost to be:
- For the Research Lab Plan: the cost of a project management software (per user per year)
- For the Education Plan: the cost of a high-quality hardcover lab notebook (per student)

I can’t afford a paid subscription even though I love SciNote. What can I do?
There are a few options!
- SciNote offers a free personal use version, as well as an open-source version. You can find additional open-source documentation here.
- Look for digitalization funding that might be available at your institution. Contact us if you need additional documentation to help support your application.

Why should I use SciNote if I already use a digital notebook like OneNote and Evernote?
SciNote is specifically designed for lab use, with a unique project/experiment/task structure that can help you plan and manage your research protocols, notes, and data. It offers access control, activity tracking, collaboration tools, and has other lab management and inventory management features that are not available in digital notebooks such as OneNote and Evernote.

I am interested in the manuscript writer. Can I get it on its own?
Our AI-assisted manuscript writer is an add-on. This means that you must have a paid SciNote plan before you can purchase the manuscript writer add-on.
I need to integrate other software and instruments with SciNote. Is that possible?
Yes! We offer RESTful API solutions. We are happy to share additional documentations to your IT personnel so you can determine what is feasible. We have several SciNote users using APIs to connect SciNote with other software and instruments; you can find additional examples on our blog post.
SciNote also comes with a few integrations, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Protocols.io. For a complete list of available integrations, visit our integrations page.
What kind of onboarding, customer support, and training does SciNote offer?
The SciNote Research Plan come with our custom onboarding experience and top-rated customer support. For the Educational Plan, we will provide custom training for the instructors. We will also work with you to set up your account. We also maintain a LinkedIn SciNote community where users can ask questions and exchange tips to learn from each other.
We also provide training materials on YouTube and through our web knowledge base and SciNote courses; you can use these materials to train additional lab members or students.
